Female pedestrian killed after being struck by jeep

Gardai in Limerick are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the Old Dublin Road at Castletroy this morning.

At approximately 10.15 this morning a female pedestrian in her late 80s was fatally injured when she was struck by a jeep in a car park.

She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was removed to Limerick University Hospital.

The driver of the jeep was uninjured. 

The scene is currently preserved for an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
