A section of the enbankment of the River Arno in the city left dozens of cars under water or damaged.

The incident, which happened near the city's famous Uffizi Gallery and landmark Ponte Vecchio, occurred at about 6.30am this morning.

According to local reports, officials are blaming a burst water pipe for the collapse and while the damage is significant, there are thankfully no reports of any injuries.
