Conor McGregor said he was written off by the media and his fellow fighters ahead of UFC 202 but that he always believed he could beat Nate Diaz.

McGregor insisted he was the better fighter and dismissed claims that he was running away from his opponent at times, stressing "he's 25 pounds heavier than I am."

The Irishman knew that it was a close fight but felt that he did more than enough to secure the victory, asking the interviewer, "who dropped who?"

McGregor praised his opponent's durability, saying Diaz is "as tough as they come."

McGregor felt happy to have been given the decision after what he referred to as "a fight for the ages."
