Emergency services have been called to the scene of a collision involving a Luas.

The incident occurred at approximately 11.30am on the red line at Capel Street.

Witnesses said they heard beeping and a 'thud' before the Luas came to a stop on the line.

An ambulance was pictured at the scene just out the Garda Ombudsman building just off Capel Street.

Reports suggest a woman was involved in a collision with the tram.

She has been taken to hospital.

Gardaí said it was a “minor incident” and the pedestrian suffered no serious injuries.

Delays on the red line have been confirmed.

Earlier this morning Luas services were delayed after a passenger took ill on a tram.
