Elderly man dies after two-car collision

A 72-year-old man has died in hospital after a crash involving two cars in Co Donegal on August 30.

Gardai in Lifford investigating a serious collision can confirm that the 72-year-old driver of one of the cars involved passed away at University Hospital Letterkenny on Friday, September 9.

The two-car collision on August 30 occurred on the Lifford to Letterkenny road, just outside Lifford at approximately 3.15pm.

The tragic 72-year-old driver, the sole occupant of one car, was injured and taken to Letterkenny University Hospital where he passed away last Friday.

The other car was driven by a male in his early 30s who was uninjured.

Two passengers, both children under seven years, were also unhurt in the collision.
