Dublin’s Gaiety Theatre hit by fire for second time this year
Firefighters were called to the Gaiety Theatre for the second time since May after the popular Dublin city venue caught fire yesterday evening.
Members of Dublin Fire Brigade were called to the theatre at around 5.30pm when the alarm was raised after a blaze that is believed to have started in the basement.
At one stage four units of the brigade from the Tara Street and Dolphin's Barn stations were on the scene dealing with the call-out.
No injuries were reported and the situation was contained shortly before 7pm.
It is the second time in less than four months that a fire has broken out at the South King Street venue.
In May, the Gaiety was forced to close for a week after a blaze caused more than €100,000 worth of damage.
