Dozens of jobs are being created with the opening of a new cinema in north Dublin.

The state-of-the-art Odeon cinema will open on 18 October in Charlestown Shopping Centre in Finglas.

Sixty-five jobs are on offer at the new screen, and the company has begun advertising positions in a range of areas including hospitality, tech, retail and maintenance.

It will be one of the largest and most technically advanced in the country, boasting nine individual theatres one of which will house the company’s massive iSense screen.

Odeon will employ nearly 450 people in its 11 outlets when the new cinema opens, a spokesperson said.

Speaking today Douglas Brennan, Brand Manager of ODEON cinemas Ireland, said: “We’re very excited to be a new part of the Finglas community, and are delighted to have 65 new colleagues joining our team.

“Our new cinema is looking and sounding fantastic, and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone in Finglas as they join us for the amazing films that are launching in the next few weeks and months.”

Also opening in the centre in the coming months are TGI Fridays, Starbucks and Leisureplex.
