Dublin fire brigade tackle fire in Government building

At least six units dealt with a fire at the Department of Transport on Dublin's Kildare Street this evening.

Dublin Fire Brigade was called to the scene in the south inner city near Leinster House shortly after 6pm. A spokeswoman for the service confirmed that four water tenders, an emergency tender and an ambulance are currently at the scene.

A district officer from Tara Street station is also attending the fire. The officer was joined by units from Donnybrook, North Strand, Phibsboro. The ambulance, whis is at the scene for "precautionary reasons", is based out of Tallaght.

The DFB spokeswoman confirmed that the fire is now under control. Nobody was injured in the fire.
