A spokesperson for Iarnród Eireann said: "There's damage to the [level crossing] barrier and the pillar for the barrier, so we have to replace the barrier. We have to make sure it's protected to cross."
"They've just cleared the barrier over the line. Now it's a matter of putting protection in place so hopefully it'll be done in the next half hour or so," he added.
Iarnrod Eireann says Dublin Bus are currently honouring rail tickets.
After evening peak (approx 7.30pm) services will halt again Pearse to Dun Laoghaire) for approx 30 mins to allow for further repairs. (2/2)— Iarnród Éireann (@IrishRail) July 7, 2015
