Dad of missing man says son refused to carry out gang hit
The father of missing Willie Maughan said today that his son was ordered to carry out a gang hit before he and his partner Anna Varslavane vanished on April 14th.
Joe Maughan told LiveLine today that:
“Willie was offered to do something. He has a conscience.”
"They were asking him to kill somebody.
"The gang told him who they wanted him to kill. I have told the gardai that.
"I know of the person he was asked to kill."
The couple were last seen in the Gormanston area of Meath between 2pm and 3pm on Tuesday April 14th.
The distressed father told Joe Duffy:
"In recent months, he (Willie) got mixed up with a local gang from surrounding areas.
“All that I'm pleading is that in the surrounding areas, if anybody saw anything in the Gormanstown area that was unusual.”
"I just want my son back. I will look after his partner, who is from Lithuania. If they come back, I will lay them to rest.
Anna and Willie had been living in a mobile home in Gormanston and were due to move back to William's family home in Dublin on the day they disappeared.
"I hope he walks up the road”, said Joe Maughan, "you're never too old to get a slap."
