Video released of ‘rapist’ carrying victim away from scene

Shocking footage has been released showing an alleged rapist carrying an unconscious woman across a road moments before he is believed to have carried out a brutal rape.

The footage was released by the UK’s West Midlands police force.

The alleged victim had been partying with friends in Birmingham city centre before she was attacked.

The footage shows a man carrying the victim in his arms after he had met her in the street after she left the club.

Moments later he is alleged to have viciously raped the 25-year-old woman.

The incident occurred near the Walkabout bar at 4am on October 19th.

The victim agreed to release the footage, but does not want to be named.

Police also want to speak to a man with dwarfism, known only as 'Kevin', who left the bar with her.

He is only being treated as a key witness and is not the suspected rapist.

Detectives said the pair left the Broad Street bar together before bumping into the alleged attacker near a Sainsbury's.

"It must be remembered that this woman has been attacked and that she has displayed remarkable courage by allowing us to release the footage” said Det Con Danette Calvey.

"There will undoubtedly be people who will watch these images and wrongly judge the woman.

"I implore people to take a good look at the CCTV and focus on the man.

"Do you recognise him? Were you in the area around the time of the attack?
