Footage of the Spanish police carrying out their operation in Spain today against the Kinahan crime cartel has emerged.

The dramatic footage shows Spanish police using an angle grinder to get into a locked safe, as well as sniffer dogs in use in one of the rooms.

More footage shows the police counting huge wads of cash.

A gun also appears to have been discovered during the raid.

The video is the latest release on a massive day of police operations in both Spain and Ireland targeted on the Kinahan mob.

In simultaneous raids today Gardai and the Spanish police hit a number of premises in Dublin and Spain.

The raid in Dublin netted computers, phones, €23,000 in cash and some documents.

Detective Superintendent Tony Howard of the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau said six properties were raided in Dublin and Guardia Civil officers were present here during those raids.

The properties raided in Dublin include three in Dublin 8, and one each in Clondalkin, Lucan and South County Dublin.

“I believe we will have arrests in the future. Today was about gathering evidence and disrupting and dismantling these organised crime groups. It was about gathering evidence so we can go to the DPP to seek a charge of possibly directing organised crime but certainly facilitating organised crime in these jurisdictions. I do know a significant amount of evidence has been retrieved in Spain,” said Det Supt Howard.

The raid in Spain included the arrest of a man in connection with the murder of Gary Hutch in Spain in September last year.

He was gunned down at the Miraflores complex after being assured that he was safe to return to his Spanish base.

Officers from Spain’s Guardia Civil have been operating in Dublin while members of An Garda Siochana have been assisting in raids in Spain today.
