Gardai are investigating two attacks on women in the Rathfarnham area in just over 24 hours at the weekend.

Gardai have confirmed to the Sunday World that they are investigating two assaults on women just over a kilometre apart, one on Saturday morning, and one on Sunday morning.

The first took place on Stockingwell Row in Rathfarnham, at around 9.40am on Saturday. 

According to gardai a man grabbed a woman and he attempted to push her against a wall. The man then ran from the scene.

The second incident, which took place on Sunday morning at 10.40am, around a kilometre away from Saturday's incident, happened on Stocking Lane in Rathfarnham.

In this incident, a woman in her 50s sustained minor injuries when she was assaulted. She was taken to Tallaght Hospital to be treated.

Gardai say they are investigating both incidents and they refused to comment when asked if there was any suggestion of a link between the attacks. 

Gardai did confirm that no arrests had been made.
