Teens arrested in connection with vicious Paddy's Day attack released without charge
Two teens arrested in connection with a vicious attack on St Patrick's Day have been released without charge.
The two youths, one aged 16 and the other 17, were last night let go following an interrogation by investigating gardai. A file is being prepared for the DPP.
They were arrested yesterday in Dublin city following the brutal Paddy's Day assault.
Their victim - a Brazilian man in his 30s - made a complaint to gardai after the shocking attack on Monday.
A video recording of the brutal incident surfaced on Tuesday and was met with widespread revulsion.
In it, the victim is knocked unconscious after being kicked in the face by one of the teens.
The heartless thugs quickly abandon the scene as shocked bystanders come to the victim's aid.
It is understood the attack occurred after the Brazilian student's hat was taken by one of two young girls.
When he was seen trying to get his hat back he was set upon by the two youths.
He was rushed to St James' Hospital hospital while unconscious and treated for his injuries.
It is thought the man may need further treatment for a suspected broken jaw.
