Two men arrested after more than €60k in cash seized at Dublin Airport
Revenue officers seized over €60k after questioning two men at Dublin Airport yesterday.
Cash to the tune of €63,750 was seized in the capital yesterday in two separate cases.
Revenue officers stopped and questioned two Romanian men, both in their 30s, following routine profiling.
The men were travelling separately; both were boarding the same early-morning flight to Budapest at 6.00am yesterday.
Revenue seized the cash suspecting it to be the proceeds of, or intended for use in, criminal activity.
Today at Dublin District Court, Judge Anthony Halpin granted a three-month detention order so that Revenue can investigate further.
