Two arrested after shot fired at house in Dublin

Gardai have arrested two males following an incident where a firearm was discharged at a house in Fairview, north Dublin last night.

At approximately 11.30pm, gardai received a report that a firearm been discharged at a house on Inverness Road, Fairview. 

On arrival it was discovered that a shot had been fired at an upstairs bedroom window from outside, causing it to smash.

There were four occupants in the house at the time, though no one was in the room damaged by the gunshot. None of the occupants were injured during the incident.

In a follow up operation shortly afterwards two males, one in his 20s and one in his 30s, were arrested in Donabate, north Dublin. 

The males are currently detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 at Swords and Clontarf garda stations.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and investigations are ongoing.
