Traveller gang using children to rob homes

A Tallaght based Traveller gang are using children, as young as seven, to rob businesses and homes in the South East.

The children are used to squeeze through narrow windows which are too small for their burglar parents to enter through.

They are also used as spotters or decoys.

The gang travel in a loop around Wicklow and Wexford, each heading to a different location where they rob from premises they had earlier earmarked.

Reports indicate that the gang are linked to the prime suspects in the murder of Willie Maughan and Anna Varslavane in April.
