Three arrested following botched Post Office robbery

Three men are in garda custody following a botched post office robbery.

At 12:30pm today three masked men armed with knives, a crowbar and other implements burst into the Post Office at Leonard’s Corner, South Circular Road, Dublin 8.

The thugs threatened customers and staff but failed in attempts to open a safe.

The three men fled the scene on foot empty handed a short time later.

Gardai searched a nearby flat following the incident and three men aged in their twenties were arrested.

They are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Kevin St. and Pearse St. Garda Stations.
