Three arrested after armed robbery at Dublin shopping centre

Gardai arrested three men today after an armed robbery at Bawnogue shopping centre in Clondalkin, Dublin 22.

Three men were arrested this afternoon following an armed robbery in Clondalkin.

Shortly before 2.50pm today, two masked men walked into a shop at Bawnogue shopping centre in Clondalkin.

They were in possession of what was believed to be a firearm.

They threatened staff and took an amount of cash.

The suspects left the scene and went in the direction of the Lealand estate.

Local gardai, assisted by the Burglary Response Unit and members from the Special Detective Unit, Harcourt Sq. went to the Lealand estate.

The authorities entered a house, where they found three males.

All three men are in their 20s.

The trio were arrested, while gardai recovered a sum of cash. 

The three males were taken to Clondalkin garda station, where they are being detained under the provisions of section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939, as amended.

During a follow-up search, a firearm was recovered.
