Ten members of the travelling community charged with child rape

Ten men have been arrested and charged with raping children in North Staffordshire, UK.

The men, all of whom are members of the Travelling community, appeared in court last week charged with a series of sexual offences.

They have been remanded in custody until they appear in court again at the end of May.

The eldest of the men 29-year-old Charles Anthony Quinn from Wolverhampton has been charged with rape

Martin McGinley (25) from Stoke-on-Trent, has been charged with assaulting a female aged 13 or over by penetration and rape, as well as two counts of rape.

23-year-old Patrick Quinn from Wolverhampton, has been charged with rape.

Luke Smith (19) from Stoke-on-Trent, has been charged with three counts of rape.

Simon Doherty (19) from Stoke-on-Trent, has been charged with assaulting a female aged 13 or over by penetration, assault, and two counts of rape.

Callum Maughn (19) from Stoke-on-Trent, has been charged with rape, child abduction and assault.

 21-year-old John Doherty from Stoke-on-Trent, has been charged with rape and attempted rape.

John Price (20) from Stoke-on-Trent, has been charged with rape.

Two 17-year-olds who cannot be named appeared in court charged with rape, attempted rape and assault.

Police say the charges related to alleged offences against two girls.

Four other men were released on bail and three remained in custody.
