Teenage girl 'sexually assaulted' at Halloween bonfire in Irish town
Gardai have appealed for information after a young teenage girl was allegedly sexually assaulted after attending a Halloween bonfire.
The incident happened between 11.30pm on Monday and 2.15am on Tuesday in Bagenalstown, Co Carlow.
It is believed that the victim had been attending a Halloween bonfire in an area Father Cummins Park in the town on the night of the attack.
The victim is in her early teens, and gardai believe that the suspected attack took place in the vicinity of the blaze.
However, the location of the actual incident has not been identified.
Officers have appealed for anyone with information to contact them in Bagenalstown station.
A garda spokesperson said: "Gardai at Bagenalstown, County Carlow are investigating an assault on a female that occurred between 11.30pm, Monday October 31 and 2.15am, Tuesday November 1.
"The location as to where the alleged incident occurred is yet to be identified.
"Investigations are ongoing. No arrests have been made."
