Tallaght teens robbed car from Chinese delivery man who left keys in ignition
Four teenage thugs from Tallaght were arrested after crashing a car they stole from an unwitting Chinese delivery man on New Year’s Eve, in south Dublin.
The youths, three aged 17 and one aged 18-year, robbed the Toyota Auris in the Cabinteely area of Co Dublin.
According to reports in the Irish Daily Mail, the robbery was ‘opportunistic’ and the delivery man had left the keys in the ignition while dropping food to a customer, shortly after 2pm on Sunday.
The car was later spotted by gardai in Roundwood, Co Wicklow, who pursued the vehicle for a short time before the youths crashed into a ditch at Sraghmore, near Sally Gap.
The young joyriders abandoned the vehicle and made off across fields before being apprehended by officers.
Three of them were brought to Wicklow garda station and one was taken to Roundwood station.
A file is being prepared for the DPP.
Two of them were released without charged on Sunday night, while the other two were released yesterday.
