A sister is appealing for help finding those responsible for a brutal attack on a special needs man in Dublin last night.

Paul Deaton had gone to Fairview Park to look at some diggers when three people set upon him. First they threatened to set fire to the 31-year-old before attacking him and after a fall, he ended up with a serious head injury.

The story is gaining attention after his sister Linda posted the following message on her Facebook page.

This is my brother Paul everyone who knows him knows he his a special needs adult an as gentle as they come wouldn't say boo!!! Well this evening he was set upon by 3 boys threatened to set him on fire an kill him they then attacked him causing serious head injuries!!! He left the house earlier and didn't say we're he was goin and he knows he's not allowed go far at that hour. He went to fairview park to watch the diggers as he loves jcb's near the footbridge end. Around 7pm he was approached he tried to get away a number of times and he eventually did a lovely girl seen him a brought him to costellos pharmacy as he had blood everywhere!! So if anyone seen anything or hears anything let me know so I can pass it onto the Garda they may of recorded it on there phones as he said they had phones!! One was on a peddle bike, one had grey jumper. 2nd had a black jumper and 3rd may have had a red jumper they may have been hoodies as he doesn't know the difference!!
