Man killed in gun attack believed to have dissident republican connections
The man gunned down in tonight’s attack is believed to be part of the new group of dissident republicans who took over from Alan Ryan’s Real IRA group.
The man, who is aged in his mid 30s, was shot in the Sunset House bar in Summerhill, north inner city Dublin.
He was recently acquitted of Real IRA membership at the Special Criminal Court
It is believed that the shooting came as a result of paranoia in the ranks of dissident republicans
These concerns are driven by the number of seizures and arrests made by the Special Detectives Unit over the past year.
