A probe is underway after it was alleged that a female garda was moonlighting as a prostitute and advertising her services on a seedy website.

The Irish Sun reports today that a probe has been launched at a Dublin station after cops received a tip off that the officer was advertising sex services online.

The site has reportedly since been shut down and officers are investigating if the garda turned to prostitution to help pay the bills.

“The woman has plenty of experience and is highly regarded by her colleagues,” a source said.

“No one knew anything about this until it all came out.

“Everyone in the gardai is talking about it and can’t believe this has happened. But nothing is proven.”

The probe is investigating whether the officer had only started working as a hooker in the last two months.

A source told The Sun: “She hasn’t committed any criminal offence but could be disciplined on the issue of standards if it’s proven she was working in the sex industry.”

A Garda Representative Association source confirmed they are aware of the shocking claims.
