The Spanish Civil Guard operating with members of the Gardai have arrested a man in connection with the 2015 murder of Gary Hutch.

The Civil Guard arrested the Irishman, who is being described as a drugs and arms trafficker, as part of operation “Geraneo”.

“The alleged killer of Gary Hutch is a 30-year-old Irish national whose initials are JQ," according to Spanish authorities.

He is believed to be a boxer from south inner city Dublin.

The murder of 34-year-old Hutch sparked the bloody Kinahan-Hutch feud which has so far claimed ten lives.

Hutch was a key member of the Kinahan Cartel until a massive falling out and accusations of touting began within the mob.

He was gunned down at the Miraflores complex in September, 2015, after being assured that he was safe to return to his Spanish base.

Officers from Spain’s Guardia Civil have been operating in Dublin while members of An Garda Siochana have been assisting in raids in Spain.
