An image from the scene of today's second big drug seizure reveal the scale of this find.

The haul, valued at €2.7 million, was seized during an operation in Co. Meath.

The picture shows large cardboard boxes of cannabis herb, with the total seizure estimated to be 135kg.

The discovery was made when detectives searched a number of vehicles in Ashbourne shortly after 3pm.

Three males aged 58, 41 & 35 were arrested as part of the investigation.

They are currently detained at Ashbourne and Finglas Garda Stations under the provisions of Section 2 – Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 where they can be detained for up to 7 days.

Gardai say that today's operation is part of ongoing investigations targeting organised criminal activity in the Dublin and Meath regions.

It was the second huge drug find today.

Earlier, in Clare, 75kgs of cocaine were found in a 'torpedo' on a beach.

That haul was valued at around €5m.
