A satanic message about the murder of Elaine O'Hara has been daubed on a wall in Bandon, Graham Dwyer's home town.

The message, captured by photographer Denis Boyle, reads 'Lord Steven Bernard murdered Elaine O'Hara in a satanic mass' and it was published in today's Irish Daily Star.

Nobody called Lord Steven Bernard has ever existed but there have been several Lord Bernards down the years as they were the local aristocratic family who were the Earls of Bandon in the 18th and 19th Century.

The graffiti is on the external wall of Bandon GAA club.

Graham Dwyer grew up in Bandon and his parents still live in the Cork town.

Dwyer was convicted of the murder of Elaine O'Hara earlier this year and was handed a life sentence.

He has until Monday to lodge an appeal against his conviction.
