A man has been arrested in connection with the seizure of a large amount of cannabis in Dublin.

Gardaí from Swords arrested the male and seized a large quantity of cannabis as part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and supply of drugs in the north Dublin area.
 
Cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €100,000 was seized when Gardaí searched a house in the Santry area this morning.
 
A 19-year-old male was arrested at the scene as part of the investigation.
 
He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at Swords Garda Station. He can be detained for up to 24 hours.
 
"These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks", a Garda spokesperson said. 
 
"Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities. Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality."
