Men charged in connection with burglary where garda car was rammed
Two men aged 19 and 22 have been charged in connection with investigations into burglaries in the Co Louth area.
Both men are due to appear before Dundalk District Court tomorrow at 10:30am.
Gardai arrested the men last night after they attempted to break through an armed garda cordon in a stolen vehicle.
Gardai were alerted to a burglary in Willville, Co Louth and upon arrival they recovered a car which had been stolen earlier that day.
Another burglary was reported nearby and a Toyota car was stolen from that location.
Armed gardai from the Regional Response Unit assisted in this investigation and attempted to stop the Toyota car at Millgrange, Carlingford.
The Toyota car then rammed two garda vehicles.
Two men were arrested at the scene and are currently detained at Dundalk garda station under the Provisions of Section 4, Criminal Justice Act 1984.
