MEET the ‘antique’ dealer who is operating a sleazy roadshow on the side – recruiting women for his sex cam empire.

By day, Alex, who is originally from Romania, works in a quiet antique store in Perrystown, south Dublin.

However, by night he sits back and takes a cut as Irish women perform sex acts on webcams in their homes, which are then broadcast live on the website

Sex cam king Alex (28), claims to act as an agent for more than 200 women across the country, who can earn anything up to €10,000 a week.

On and other similar sites, clients pay to click on a ‘model’ and then direct her to stage a live sex show. In most cases, they pay more money each time they give the girl a ‘request’.

Dad-of-one Alex – who lives in Drimnagh – has recently launched a recruitment drive and has placed ads on a number of adult contact websites.

However, Alex claims he is not too impressed with the men who use the services he helps provide, branding them “psychos” who would be better off spending their money on a holiday.

We first got in touch with Alex after answering an ad on a well-known website. It read: “18+ models required male & female any age.”

But it quickly became apparent that Alex was not looking to discover the next Kate Moss and had other things in mind – describing it as “adult stuff”.

After exchanging texts, he quickly asked for a naked picture, saying: “Can you send some pics pls? No face necessary.”

Alex then arranged to meet our undercover reporter in the antique and second-hand shop in Dublin in the early afternoon.

He claimed the webcam business could be very lucrative for the right woman.

“I have had around 200 girls working for me. There are not too many other Irish girls here, there are more girls in Belfast,” he said.

“You can show them your tits, but you won’t be having sex, it’s just you in the room.

“Thank you for trusting me because most girls say they won’t send me photos, but I need photos because some girls are [makes fat person gesture with his hands], ha.

“You can make €100 a week, maybe €10,000 a week, but you have to make them love you, it is very important.”

Sex webcam shows have become increasingly popular across the world. The porn industry – which has suffered because of free sites – views them as a secure source of income.

Typically, clients are charged around €2.50 per minute for a group chat, or €5 a minute for a private camera-to-camera session.

Alex is not operating outside the law. There is no legislation outlawing webcam shows in Ireland.

Alex told our reporter that he cannot understand why anyone would spend their hard-earned cash on sex cam services.

“They are not normal people, sitting in front of a computer spending €1,000. They are not right in the head, spend €1,000 on a holiday to Ibiza [instead].”

Alex openly admitted he gets a cut of each transaction

“If you make €10,000 you will get €8,000 – there is a 20 per cent cut. I am doing this for seven or eight years, I am just trying to make a living.”

After bringing our reporter into the antique store where he worked, Alex opened up the website he works for and showed us one girl’s profile.

He said: “There are 300 people in the [virtual] room speaking to her, she is just messy [in appearance], it doesn’t have to be about beauty.

“She is making around $4,000 to $5,000 a week – that’s about €3,500 every two weeks. She is asking for $200 to take her top off.

“It depends on you. You have to pretend that you like them, that you love them – you need to have a double personality.

“I make an account for you, you have password, you have everything, you can check how much money you have, you control everything.

“I would need from you a photo ID and your bank account details. We pay every two weeks. If you work hard, then it’s good money.”

Our reporter talks to the peep-show king

Alex claims to be a representative for – one of the best known webcam sex sites in the world.

The company describes itself as having 100,000 models and claims to be “the largest webcam site in the world”.

The site reads: “ is a huge friendly webcam community of over 10 million members. It is not a porn site. The members are generally more respectful and interesting.

“We offer the best technology for models and members, offering both the best possible experience. As a model, you are always in control of your chat room, and you have hundreds of different options and settings to make the site fit your needs.

“Our models are our partners and we will treat you with respect and offer friendly technical support for anything you may need.”

In the UK, the Adult Industry Trade Association (AITA), an organisation that speaks for the U.K.’s porn performers, producers and directors, estimates that there are at least 5,000 adult webcam operators in Britain and the number is rising rapidly.

When confronted by the Sunday World, Alex admitted he was in the webcam business in “collaboration” with

“It’s my my website, I work in collaboration with the website – I just look for the models.

“There are maybe 100 Irish women on the website, a lot of Spanish and Brazilians. The Irish women are very hard to make them [laughs]. I know models who make €60,000 a month.

“I think it is a good way to make money but maybe people are thinking, ‘My brother, my sister will see me...’.
