GARDAI are on the hunt for a man who threatened staff and stole a sum of cash at a garage on Dublin's northside.

The man, who arrived at the premises with one other person by motorbike, was wearing a scarf around his mouth and head when he approached staff as they were locking up in the Newtown Industrial Estate, Coolock last night.

After threatening two staff members and demanding money, he is understood to have escaped with a sum of cash, thought to be just under €1,000.

None of the staff members are believed to have been injured in the robbery.

Witnesses described the suspect as approximately 5ft11ins, wearing dark bottoms and a dark tracksuit top with white runners.

He spoke with a Dublin accent and escaped on motorbike.

There is no description of the motorcyclist but the motorbike has been described as a large Scrambler-type bike with blue and white fairings with no registration and no lights.
