Man in 70s due before courts in connection with Denis Donaldson murder

Two men were arrested on Tuesday in the Donegal area in relation to the Denis Donaldson murder probe, with one man to appear before the courts today while the other has been released.

A man in his 70s is due to appear before the Special Criminal Court in Dublin this afternoon, charged in connection with the Denis Donaldson murder investigation. 

Donaldson was murdered at Cloghercor, Doochary, Co Donegal in April 2006.

A second man, in his 40s, has been released without charge.

A file will now be prepared for the information of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Both men were arrested in the Donegal area on Tuesday and were detained at Letterkenny garda station under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act 1939.
