Man charged in connection with assaults on Afghani males
A man has been has appeared in court charged in connection with an assault on two young Afghan men and a child which occurred at Broadford Road, Ballinteer, Dublin 16 on Thursday the 5th of May at approximately 8.20pm.
It has been reported that brothers Naqeeb Ahmadzai (18) and Fazalrahman Ahmadzai (20), along with their nephew Abdul (13) were cycling on Broadford Road when they were assaulted by four other men who were travelling in car described as a blue coloured Peugeot.
Two of the injured males were taken to Saint James' Hospital, one in a serious condition.
The other male was taken to Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin.
The accused was arrested on the 10th of May and detained at Blackrock Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
He appeared before Dun Laoghaire District Court on the 11th May, charged with assault and was remanded on bail to appear at Dun Laoghaire District Court on the 26th July.
Three other men are sought by Gardaí in relation to this investigation.
