Man arrested in connection with cattle rustling incident

A man in his 30s has been arrested in Donegal in connection with the theft of livestock worth more than €100,000.

The animals were taken from lands at Cornaher, Kilbeggan, Co. Westmeath on the 24th and 25th of June 2015.

75 cattle and 25 sheep were taken during the incident.

The man was arrested as part of a planned operation.

He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Ballyshannon Garda Station.
