Man arrested in connection with armed robbery in west Dublin

A 21-year-old man has been arrested by Gardai from Blanchardstown investigating an armed robbery in Dublin city.

Two males raided a shop, armed with a gun and a machete, at the Carpenterstown Shopping Centre, Dublin 15.

Both staff and customers were threatened.

The raiders took cash from the shop’s tills, as well as personal property from several customers.

The duo escaped the crime scene on foot.

During a search and arrest operation in Dublin this morning, a 21-year-old male was arrested by Gardai from the Blanchardstown Detective Unit.

He is currently being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Blanchardstown garda station.
