Man arrested after gardai seize over €500k worth of drugs in south Dublin house raid

Gardai arrested a man in his 30s yesterday after discovering a huge quantity of cannabis plants in a south Dublin house.

Gardai have seized a large quantity of cannabis plants and arrested a man following a house raid at Heronford Lane, Shankill, Co Dublin.

Gardai carried out the search of the house yesterday evening, discovering 400 cannabis plants growing on the ground floor with a further 700 in the basement.

The seizure may have a street value, subject to analysis, in excess of €500,000.

A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and is detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Shankill garda station.

The house is sealed off for a forensic technical examination which will take place today.
