Knife-wielding men 'with Dublin accents' leave staff terrified during robbery

Staff were left terrified when two men carrying knives entered a local shop and threatened them during a daylight robbery.

Two men (aged in their 20s) entered the shop armed with knives and threatened the staff before making off with a sum of money.

The robbery occurred at Londis on the Main Street, Prosperous, Co Kildare on Sunday, August 28 at 3pm, gardai said.

A customer's wallet was also taken during the course of the robbery.

The men are described as 5'5'', skinny and with Dublin accents.

One of the men was wearing a black hoodie, grey tracksuit shorts with a scarf covering his face and wearing sunglasses.

The second man was wearing dark clothing with sunglasses and had a scarf on his face as well.

Gardai at Clane are also investigating a car theft from a home in Donadea Forest Park around the same time.

Both incidents are being investigated by gardai.
