Investigation launched after body discovered in forest

GARDAI suspect a body found in a woods in Kildare is that of a Dublin man believed to have been killed by gangland criminals.

The body, believed to be that of a man from south inner city Dublin, was found by two locals in Rahin Woods on the Kildare-Meath border around 8km outside Edenederry, Co. Offaly shortly before 9pm last night.

Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margaret Bolster is due to attend the scene today.

Gardai had been carrying out searches in the area this week for the missing Dublin man who was believed to have been abducted and murdered.
