Gardai search for Dublin armed robber who may have escaped in taxi

Gardai are looking for an armed raider who they believe fled the scene of the crime on Saturday and then hopped in a taxi.

They have issued an appeal for members of the public who may have seen the Dublin city-centre incident to come forward.

According to gardai a man armed with a knife walked into a shop on South Leinster Street at around 12.15pm on Saturday, June 24.

He threatened staff and subsequently made off with a sum of money.

Gardai say that as he ran off members of the public tried to stop him but he escaped in the Westland Row direction.

Gardai also believe the raider, who was wearing a blue or navy puffa jacket, got into a taxi between Lincoln Place and Westland Row.
