Gardai probe after 'substantial' amount of money nicked from Cliffs of Moher
Gardai are investigating a robbery at the Cliffs of Moher Visitor centre in which a "substantial" amount of money was stolen.
The popular tourist destination was robbed sometime between 10pm on Sunday night and 9am on Monday morning, according to gardai.
"The scene is preserved and a technical examination is being carried out. No arrests have been made but an investigation is ongoing," a garda spokesperson told Independent.ie.
There was no major damage done to the centre that remained closed today.
Gardai have no idea how the thieves entered the premises but it is reported that power lines were cut as the thieves attempted to gain entry to the centre.
Gardaí have asked members of the public who saw anything suspicious in the area on Sunday night or Monday morning to contact Ennis Garda Station on 065 6848100.
