Gardai make large cocaine seizure in Dublin

Crime DeskBy Sunday World

Yesterday, Gardaí from the Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau seized cocaine with an estimated value of €140,000.

The drugs were seized when Gardaí stopped and searched a number of vehicles in the Lucan area yesterday evening at approximately 8pm.

Three men, aged 31, 32, and 35 years, were arrested at the scene and are currently detained at Clondalkin and Ronanstown Garda Stations under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

The seizure comes just over a week after Gardai seized cocaine with a street value of €420,000 in three raids around the capital.

On that occasion, a number of vehicles were intercepted in the Blanchardstown area and four kilos of cocaine were seized by gardai.

Follow-up searches in the Cabra and Clondalkin area led to the seizure of another two kilos of cocaine.
