Gardai hunt pervert who tried to snatch two kids

Gardai are hunting for a man who allegedly tried to snatch two primary school children in south Dublin.

The first child was approached by a man in a black car on Thursday, June 16th, in Booterstown, at around 8:10am.

Reports indicate that the 12-year-old girl had been dropped off at the N11 side of Booterstown Avenue.

She was approached outside a nearby apartment complex by a man aged in his 20s or 30s, who allegedly told her that her that her dad had asked him to pick her up.

The young girl fled and reported the incident to her teachers who informed gardai.

A day before this incident a young boy was walking to his grandparents’ house in Monkstown when a predator tried to get him into his car, which was also black.

The boy’s father took to Facebook to say:

“A man with blonde hair and well-spoken asked (my son) to get into his car and offered him sweets.

“My son said no and ran away, the car followed him.”

The girl and boy were interviewed by gardai and it is understood a photofit of the alleged abductor is being created.

Gardai say investigations are ongoing.
