GARDAI may have prevented another gang hit after seizing a handgun linked to the Kinahan cartel in north Dublin this weekend.

It is the latest success against feuding gangs in the capital.

The Russian-made Baikal Makarov IZH-79 semi-automatic pistol in a house near Botanic Road in Drumcondra on Friday evening.

The seizure is part of the same operation which led to the discovery of a military-grade Mac 10 machine pistol in Dublin earlier this week.

Gardai from Special Crime Task Force of the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau raided a property linked to the sister of a businessman who has known links to the Kinahan gang and is used by them to store items.
