A sex offender has been arrested by gardai after he was found living in a tent, under a bridge near the Rose of Tralee contestant’s hotel.

38-year-old Glasgow pervert George Clingain was convicted of taking indecent photos of children just five-months ago.

Police in Scotland sent out an SOS in a bid to trace the pervert last week, warning members of the public not to engage with him.

He was brought before Killarney District Court in Co Kerry for not notifying gardai of his whereabouts.

The court heard that Clingain had been in Tralee since the 7th of August and prior to that he’d been in Donegal, Cork and Limerick.

The accused, who pleaded guilty, told the court:

“I was not aware I was to sign on the register in Ireland.”

Judge John Kind remanded Clingain in custody until Thursday.
