Gardai conduct drugs raid on crime gangs in Dublin’s south inner city
Gardai have arrested two men aged 22 and mid 40s, following a string of raids conducted in Dublin’s south inner city today.
The raids, which were part of Operation Thistle, which targets organised criminals, involved officers from the D.M.R. South Central Division assisted by members of the Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, Special Detective Unit and officers from the Criminal Assets Bureau.
Searches on premises on York Street and in the Mount Browne area uncovered heroin, (1 kilo), cocaine, (1.75 kilos) and cannabis resin, (1.8 kilos), with a combined estimated value of €300,000, pending analysis.
The arrested men are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice, (Drug Trafficking), Act, 1996 at Kevin Street and Kilmainham Garda Stations.
