Gardai arrest two men during investigation into organised crime
Two men aged in their 30s and 40s have been arrested following a series of searches which were carried out in Cork yesterday.
Officers from Cork City, Cork North & West Divisions along with members of the Regional Support Unit and Dog Unit raided six locations in the city and county areas.
During the operation two boat engines were seized and two men were arrested.
The men are being detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007 at Cobh Garda Station.
Yesterday’s operation is part of a coordinated investigation into the activities of an organised crime group involved in the distribution of stolen property, marine theft and an aggravated burglary in Co. Cork.
