Gardai are renewing their appeal for information about the murder of small time criminal Thomas Farnan who was gunned down at his Clondalkin home on the 25th of April 2016.

Father-of-two Thomas Farnan (37) was targeted at his home in Kilcronan Close by a gunman who then fled on foot and on to the banks of the nearby Grand Canal to make his escape.

Farnan, who has a number of previous convictions for minor offences, was hit up to four times in the torso and died at the scene.

He was the 11th murder victim of the year, and although known to gardai for burglary and theft offences, as well as small drug possessions and motoring offences, investigators say he was not a major criminal and would not have been on the garda radar as a potential murder target.

Gardaí would like to speak to anyone who has information in relation to the murder of Thomas Farnan.

The smallest piece of information, which may seem insignificant, might help with the investigation.

Anybody with information is urged to contact Clondalkin Garda Station 0n 01 666 7600 or Crimestoppers on 1800 25 00 25.
