Feud descends into mass brawl in housing estate

Two brothers are in hospital with serious injuries this evening after a mass brawl erupted in a Co Wexford housing estate.

The incident occurred shortly before 1.20pm today in the Talbot Green area of Wexford town.

Hurleys, stones, and sticks were used in the row that left one man on the ground spewing blood in front of horrified children.

It is believed the fight broke after a long-running feud boiled over and spilled into the street.

Sources have revealed that the brothers, who are both aged in their 30s, were involved in the fight with a number of others.

The shocking incident was witnessed by a large group of young children and families who were enjoying the good weather at the time.

"All the children were terrified. They were screaming," said a witness.

Large numbers of gardai responded to the incident. A garda spokesperson has said no arrests have been made in relation to the incident.

The brothers were taken to Wexford General Hospital where they remain this evening.

Enquiries are continuing.
