Wayne, Dessie and John Dundon were arrested in their cells at Portlaoise Prison this week by gardai investigating the brutal murder of mother of two Baiba Saulite.

The Star reports that Wayne (37), Dessie (31) and John (32) were arrested under section 40 warrants which allow gardai to take prisoners into custody.

The three were quizzed about the 2006 murder of Saulite and sources told the Star that gardai are confident that all three Dundons will be charged in relation to the murder.

All three Dundons were behind bars when the Latvian mum-of-two (below) was shot dead outside her home in Swords in November 2006 but gardai believe they have new information that can lead to the convicted criminals being charged with conspiracy to murder. The offence can carry a life term.

Gardai believe that a criminal wanted Saulite dead and enlisted the help of the Dundons to organise the murder.

Wayne Dundon is currently serving a life sentence for the murder of Roy Collins in Limerick in 2009.

John Dundon is serving life for ordering the murder of Shane Geoghan in 2008.

Dessie Dundon is serving life for the murder of crime boss Kieran Keane and the attempted murder of Owen Treacy.

After Wayne Dundon's trial it emerged gardai had a statement from the now deceased Joe Hehir who told them John Dundon gave him a map to Saulite's house when he visited him in prison and Hehir passed the map on to the Dublin gang that carried out the shooting.
